The Urantia Book University (UBU) is a ministry and educational outreach project devoted to an in-depth study of The Urantia Book (sometimes referred to as The Urantia Papers, The Urantia Revelation, The Fifth Epochal Revelation, or simply The Big Blue Book). The UBU website is currently expanding to become an online university for readers of The Urantia Book. It is the intention of this educational website to examine, explore, celebrate, connect, and reflect on the cosmic teachings discovered within the pages of The Urantia Book (1955). It is the stated purpose of this online university to produce and maintain a wide variety of content inspired by The Urantia Book and created by an international fellowship of devoted readers. It is one of our primary goals at the UBU to facilitate diverse and dynamic interpretations of this extraordinary text. This website was designed to facilitate an interactive and creative learning environment -- culminating in virtual classrooms and a diverse schedule of courses, access to informative study aids, an archive of writings and artwork inspired by the book, forums for discussion, and student testimonials comprising an assortment of perspectives on the message and meaning of the Urantia revelation.

You have arrived at the UBU because these Urantia papers have impacted your life in some very real way. The UBU has faith in the spiritual lessons that these papers hold for turning over a new page in human history and in advancing civilization. The UBU is a school of dynamic living. The UBU is a divinty school. The UBU believes that we are made more intensely alive when we study and reflect on the origin and nature of our existence, the universe we live in, and our spiritual heritage as Sons of God. Students at the UBU are seeking a deeper engagement with The Urantia Book because we have realized that the more we seek to understand the facts, meanings, and values presented to us in the Urantia papers, the greater we understand ourselves, our relationship to God, and our place in the universe. We have been given a great gift in the pages of the Urantia papers, and now we must decide what to do with it. The UBU whole-heartedly encourages every reader of The Urantia Book to actively participate in the next stage of growth, learning, and scholarly reasearch surrounding the fifth epochal revelation to Urantia.

A brief description of the text:
The Urantia Book typically comprises 2,097 pages with 196 papers divided into four parts. I have seen Part IV. The Life and Teachings of Jesus printed separately on many occasions. The papers credit themselves with divine authorship by a whole host of ministering spirits and celestial personalities. These cosmic authors explain that they were comissioned and granted permission to deliver a set of papers to which reveal the true nature of spirit and reality to our world, which they call "Urantia." The complete papers which comprise this spiritual revelation were first published in Chicago, Illinois as The Urantia Book in 1955 by the Urantia Foundation, and the Urantia Foundation continues to publish and distributre the text to this day. The papers contain a compelling look at the origin, history, and destiny of life in a God-centered universe. The original English text of The Urantia Book entered the public domain in June of 2001 and there are multiple editions of the Urantia papers being circulated and published at this point in time. You can find The Urantia Book in libraries, bookstores, and many websites publish the complete text for free on the internet. In addition to the original English language text, there are translations of The Urantia Book availible in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Korean, and several other languages as well. Translation of the text is an on-going effort and an intriguing topic for discussion.

The UBU invites you collaborate with your fellow brothers and sisters to take a closer look at the source and the continuing development of the valuable concepts of history, humanity, spiritual life, and God-affirming faith contained within the pages of The Urantia Book. We are beginning an endless study of life, love, and God-consciousness -- there is no greater adventure than this!
